Secrets To Internet Success In 2008
December 31, 2007 | Written by annliu | Filed Under Success Tips
This is the time that I like to spend the time with friends and families and reflect back what I’ve achieved in 2007 and get myself ready for 2008.
Speak of the “Secrets” to Internet success in 2008, here are what I think;
1. Mailing list still come to the first. List marketing will still be an effective method to generate consistent income to your business. But you’ll be using different ways to build a list, with the new trend of web 2.0 and what’s coming in 2008, there are so many new ways you can explore to get subscribers. You can find help from The Years Best Marketing Tool
2. Don’t forget to make sure that you’re having a ‘conversation’ with your subscribers. If you spend all of your time building a list but not having a relationship with them, there is no point, right? So you can’t turn your list into a business if no one’s reading your stuff.
3. Adding value is about giving real content that is helpful to the readers. So write content with value added information and give value to your subscribers and readers, don’t do like some other marketers who don’t give value AT ALL but keep on making promotions to their list.
4. If you want to achieve something in 2008, then focus of what you want to accomplish. Don’t write those crappy goals like, “I want to make money online in 2008.” - This is the darn goal that EVERYONE HAS. If you really want to achieve you goal, you should specific, like “I want to make money from eBay.com, generating $5,000 a month.” Better?
5. Regardless of what’s your goals are, one most important thing you need to learn — you got to learn how to master your own self first. You can called it self-improvement or whatever. If you don’t have what it takes, you’re not going to stay long in this game. Trust me on this.
6. Finally, you may already received many marketing messages canned around the theme of making your 2008 year a better year. Huh!
Stop - if you’re going to invest in a course or program, better make it a point that you want to make full use of it next week or latest within a month — not for 2008, ok? because I can predict that it’ll just collect dust.
So once again, have a wonderful holiday and enjoy your New Year celebration! See you in 2008.

Will China be the new California? New data suggest China isn’t lagging on Internet social networking. It’s just innovating differently.
I came cross this news and can’t wait to share with you.
Believe it or not - Chinese have a more passionate relationship with the Internet, according the survey that conducted by JWT, an ad firm, and IAC, which owns Home Shopping Network, Ticketmaster and other global brands, it said:
Young Chinese were more likely than Americans to say their online lives were more intense than the real thing (48 percent versus 12 percent). And, perhaps because of the lack of reliable opinions in the media, Chinese also seem to be more likely than Americans to use the Web to share and form opinions.
There are an estimated 39 million bloggers in China, 40 percent of all broadband users, compared with just 13 percent in the United States.
Young Chinese Net users said that they go online with more people per week (23 versus 19) and were twice as likely to rely on online sources for shopping advice.
With all the latest Internet technologies, like social networking, IM and email, surprised - they given sites like Facebook and MySpace the cold shoulder. Even local Chinese sites like Xiaonei or 51.com have failed to establish big national followings. They think those sites are too ‘passive’ and prefers the immediacy of instant messaging, from their home PC and cell phone, because with IM - “you can connect with anyone, any time - that’s what makes it great.”

Should innovation-minded managers look at the fast-growing Internet company as a model — or an anomaly?
I came cross this article and find that the information author is sharing are great for whomever wants to be an innovator, no matter you are working for an Internet company or a company, or just an Internet marketer. Actually it is for everyone who are in the business. It is an awesome piece of reading.
In the article, Nicholas G. Carr share with you his important clues discovery in terms of how our ideas about business innovation are shaped through taking a close look at Google’s business model and innovation program,
He share with you why he think Google’s model is a potential dangerous model for other businesses, why companies may go broke if they following Google’s foot step? and why it is difficult for companies to earn much as Google does? … etc
You will also find what are those complementary advantage that Google has, what are the lessons we should learn from the Googleplex, what and how Google teaches us through both its successes and its failures.
Here are some short notes from this article:
Most of Google’s success and all of its profits can be traced to three innovations: the first a brilliant insight into the organization of information, the second a creative act of imitation, and the third a breakthrough in the engineering of computer systems.
The company’s founding idea was hatched by Page and Brin in early 1996 when they realized that Web search engines were deeply flawed. In ranking results for a keyword search, traditional engines looked mainly at the content of Web pages, adding up, for example, the number of times the keyword appeared.
The Google founders saw that you’d get a much better sense of a page’s relevance if you looked at the number and the quality of the other pages linking to it. Links, they realized, were the Web’s version of votes: add them up and you’d get a clear picture of the importance and value of sites.
Here is the entire article, you can either read it online or print it out read at your convenience, highly recommended to read.
