One of the biggest problems I saw many newbies have when they blogging is that they publish those bad content on their sites. Also the poorly written original content that is not original at all. This is the death bell for all bloggers who wants to take their blogs seriously.
You have to have unique content. Good content is the lifeblood of blogging. Even every other blog is lacking in original content, but you have to be different. If you are not be able to produce quality content, you can either use Private Label Rights (PLR) or pay someone to write it for you if you have to.
Below are few tips that will help you in producing a better blog and gain massive traffic:
1. Create Content that Gives People a Plan Of Action
Want to get people not only read your blog but follow your word blindly and do your bidding for you? Then write every of your posts with ‘call to action’ message that could be taken by your readers.
2. Create Content that is Timeless
If you want your blog to be around for a while and you want readers to come in 5 years time and still find your content relevant to them, you need to make sure the content is timeless, whether they read it in 3 months, 3 years or 6 years. This is not only help yourself save time in updating your blog content, it also helps with other people who you may allow to use your content on their websites. They are sure not going to update your content for you.
I wrote an article 4 years ago that I’m slightly embarrassed with having my name on it. It was cutting edge at that time, but now, when I read it, I find it’s so old and very funny too.
Some topics however, will always be timeless. So go to find those and write on them.
3. Write For Your Visitors as Your Number 1 Priority Not Search Engines
I have been emphasis this many times – your main goal should be focus on writing for humans, not bots. And keep this in mind of this – don’t try and repeat your keywords all over your blog posts to the point where it does not make sense.
This might work sometimes for search engine ranking and you may get some extra traffic, but they won’t stay long if the content is obviously geared for search engine ranking. People in general have a short attention span and they won’t waste their time on the junk. In regarding to how to optimize your blog, you might find some help from this previous post.
4. Write Like You are Talking to a Friend
There is nothing worse than reading a blog with no personality, it is boring. People like to read those content that are conversationalist in nature. They like to read your written piece at the 7th grade level, they don’t want to read big words and hard to read sentences. They like it when you talk to them one on one like an old friend. So write your content in a way as if only one person (your readers) were reading your blog.
Having a unique personality will help your site gain more traffic from people telling people (word of mouth) than any other “traffic building” technique.
5. Make Sure You Post Regularly But Not Overly So
To keep search engines, ping sites and people interested your blog, you have to blogging it regularly, otherwise your site will just swimming in the deep ocean. Post once a week is the very least suggestion I have for you, it would be better if you can write and publish your content two or three times per week. But don’t post everyday all day, if you do that, search engines will think your site is a spam blog and punish it.
6. Become an Expert in a Small Niche Market
One of the best ways to get traffic to your blog is to become a big fish in a small pond. When you corner the market in any niche, your blog become an expert and a traffic gathering machine.
Becoming an expert in the field you are interested in is not that hard. All you have to do is to write and post lots of really informative articles and content, setup an opt-in list newsletter through autoresponder, or maybe write a few ebooks.
It is so much easier to become an expert in a niche within a niche. If you are trying to be an expert in a big field that already full of experts, it is hard work.
