Facebook Users Need ‘Greater Discretion’

Facebook users are advised to exercise caution before downloading applications on the social networking site, after an application has been identified to download adware into a user’s PC.
According to the ZDNet Asia January 08 2008 report,
Facebook users to be careful about the kinds of third-party applications they install. They must show greater discretion about how they use the site, and which applications they install,” Cluley said. “These third-party widgets are not written by Facebook, and can mean that you are carelessly sharing your personal information with strangers or risking your computer’s security.
A Sophos study last year found that 41 percent of Facebook users were willing to reveal their personal information to a complete stranger, and 84 percent divulged their full date of birth.
So boys and gals, be precautions when you downloading third party software on your PCs.
In addition, because all those new and popular technologies, social networking become very popular now, it has been used by lots of people who want to keep in touch with their friends, who want to get more socialize from the virtual world, who want to have a belonging feeling toward to the latest trend, and, as well as for Internet marketers who like to use social networking method as one of their marketing tools to promote the business etc.
