How Can You Help?

September 3, 2008 | Written by annliu | Filed Under Personal

Recently, I got a chance to attend “couleurs du lotus” fundraising event at Bed Superclub Bangkok in towards the construction of Lotus Flower Foundation’s (LFF) rehabilitation shelter in Nondburi . The event went great; I learn many new things from the event, as well as learn about the organization.

Lotus Flower Foundation is a non-government (NGO), non-religious and non-profit organization. The mission of the organization is to eradicate the abuse of children in by raising social awareness through sustainable methods, such as policy change and education, encouraging social cooperation to report child abuse.

Children who are victims of abuse are generally very vulnerable to drug or alcohol addiction as well as repeated sexual exploitation. Many child victims in find it hard to break free of the vicious cycle of abuse, which cause them often go on to display abusive behavior themselves.

To reinforce Thai laws against child abuse and trafficking, building child abuse prevention programs, raising public awareness of Children’s Rights and setting national standards for shelters dealing with abused children, LFF is collaborating and lobbying with local partners in approaching the problems. They are focusing on the safe and measured reintegration of children into society and striving to build communities in which children can live in dignity and security.

One of the programs LFF created is Lotus Flower Blossom Program (LFBP). It is a program to educate care-givers working at the various government and non-government shelters throughout on child psychology, alternative education philosophy, life skills and trauma relief methods.

The LFBP will be taught at the LFF Academy in Nondburi, which is scheduled to open in early 2009, linked to a live model rehabilitation shelter for 30 abused orphans, run after the teachings of the LFF Academy.

If you are interested in supporting those Thai children’s education, want them have a healthy life, here is the detail information of How to Help.

Your participation is appreciated.

Thank you!
