Are you using Twitter to market your business yet? Chances are you’ve read something about this at some point. If you aren’t twittering yet, you’d better start thinking about how to integrate Twitter into your business soon.

Even Dell, a big name brand has already proven that Twitter works for them. I’ve been using Twitter for a while and have come across a lot of big-name people and companies, they are using it too. What I like about twitter is that it’s quick, easy and works.

No matter you love it or hate it, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, blogs and more are increasingly common for effectively reaching both internal and external audiences. You can find out more detail info in this Brands and Marketing Trends for 2010 post.

Twitter is a level playing field, just as people sign up for your email newsletters today, they can start following you on Twitter too. But the big difference is that based on our human nature, people and consumers are like to stay in control. As soon as they turn over their email address, they lose that control. With Twitter, they can stay in total control with the “follow” button, and they can choose to “not follow” as well, at anytime they want.

I heard many people said they don’t know what to twitter about, basically you can tweet almost everything you want, there are no rules, no restrictions and no any particular requirements toward what you can or can’t tweet.

In my previous post, I have wrote this What to Tweet When You are on Twitter, you can read and check out the video, it will give you some ideas, help and point you to the right direction in your tweeting along the way.

Speaking of that, Tweeters who have obviously found their voice in this new medium, and are having a ball writing for it every day. Check out this 10 Funniest People on Twitter and see what they tweet everyday.

With its 140-character limit, Twitter also a perfect medium for humor delivered in quick, inspired bursts.

Social media is a beautiful way to enhance your business, brand, and image. It is amazing what social media as a whole can do for your business if you really look at it. There are many people are using social media to build their an entire business.

With social media marketing, you can…

• Get product, service, and customer service feedback
• Find new product and service ideas from chatter
• Grow your influence and following
• Get referrals through word of mouth and viral marketing
• Send website traffic anywhere that you like

It is no doubt, social media is one of the greatest ways to build and enhance your business. Among them, Twitter is just one website that you can use to build and grow your web brand and presence.

I believe many of you are already on the Twitter, lots of you you are still not yet, if you are on Twitter — do you know how to use this powerful micro-blogging tool attract the followers? What and how to tweet to help you reach out the potential mass and gain maximum benefits etc?

It likes many other websites on the Internet; with the right knowledge and action based on that knowledge, you can build a network, brand, and influence.

With of saying that, I strongly recommended you get this Twitter Influence education course — A step by step process to getting a face and an image on twitter and then establishing yourself, building your brand, network and influence.

The course is written by David King in a way to walk you through from A to Z. It teaches you how to dominate your market, learn to network and build your brand all through Twitter. Also, after you finished entire course, you’ll discover how you can vastly increase the number of people who follow you, build better relationships with them faster and have a grater impact on Twitter.

After a week, I finished of reading David’s Twitter Influence ebook, watched those videos, I am very impressed with his work and course quality. I did this short video clip as an example:

Here are the course outline in summary:

Twitter Influence e-book and Mindmaps (Pdf and JPEG)

Module 1 – Beginner Basics (video)

* Twitter Intro
* Beginner Basics
* Twitter IPM 3.0
* Twitter KLT and Rapport basics

Module 2 – Twitter Tools (video)

Module 3 – Twitter Market Research (video)

Module 4 – Twitter KLT (video)

When I do my regular RSS catch up, this Soical Media Marketing the Anti-Social Approach caught up my attention and I suggest you read it too.

In the article, Charles Heflin got some interesting questions, he made some good point, shared with you some of his opinions toward social media marketing, together with some applicable tips toward building a content syndication network and what are the benefits you will gain …

Do you like hanging out on Twitter or Facebook working endless hours to attract new business prospects?

Do you like “hangin out” and letting people know every intimiate detail of your life?

Do you like making small talk with hundreds of people every day in hope that some of them will filter into your sales funnel somehow?

How many hours do you spend building/networking with Twitter followers, Facebook friends and the like? What is your goal in all this?

In other words, you can utilize social media by ignoring the “networking” bits and focus on marketing leverage instead.

Most people spend 90% of their time marketing and 10% of their time nurturing their business message. This is backwards.

Why not spend 90% of your time moving prospects into cutomers, enhancing your web presence and nurturing customers for repeat sales?

The answer is simple… You have not found your leverage point yet. You know, that single thing you can do that will reduce your marketing time from 90% down to 20%, then 10%, etc.

With this understanding in place what can you do to leverage your time, effort and money to market your business most efficiently? … Continuing Read …

There a lesson I learned.

As many of you may have noticed, I was pumping around from my FACEBOOK Account last week ..

Since I set up a Facebook account, I love using it! I find it is a great place for all networking opportunities. One day while trying to add another business associate who sent ‘friend requests’, I received FB’s notice that “You have exceeded your friend limit of 5,000 friends. The limit is 5000 friends. Your friend count must be below this number to add more friends.”

Unbelievable!! What?? Facebook has such unreasonable rule to tells you how many friends you can have? Limit to 5,000 friends, who picked it?

Well, after search around FB’s ‘Help’ section, there is nothing I can do, it is FB rule.

Fine, after that, I followed other users’ advice and opened a “Fan Page”, which allows you to have an unlimited number of fans.

I thought have a fan page is great, without losing all my friends that in my FB Profile page, now I can ‘transfer’ them to my Fun page, huh!

Unfortunately, it is nothing like what I thought, there’s no way to delete the Profile page. AND there’s really no way to tell all your “friends” to come and join you on your Fan Page.

Even I posted it to my wall and try to get the word out. But no one really knows which page to go to if they’re a friend of both. It is very confusing!

(P.S: If anyone knows how to disable your Profile page, but keep your Fan page and transfer the people on your profile page over to your Fan page, in the other words, just have one facebook page, please share it in the comment area below this post … thank you!)

On the other hand, each day, when I log into my old profile page, I saw there are so many new friend requests are waiting for me to confirm. You know guys — I would love to have you on board, but the only problem I have was I had no room to add them (unless someone unfriendly to me and remove their own account from my friend’s list or whatever).

Instead of just ignoring those new friend’s requests and saw they sit there, it will be polite if I send a message to each one of them to explain something like the following:

Hey! Thanks for the friend request. I would love to have you on my friend’s list, unfortunately, the number of friends in my account is reached to Facebook’s max limit and I’m not able to add more than 5,000 friends to this page ..

So if you don’t mind, please join me on my “Fan” page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ann-Liu/95513323030?pub=2309869772&ref=s. Thanks for your support!

Sincerely
Ann Liu

So I started send out a couple dozen of these messages, and then I saw a red waring box pop up, it was a waring message from facebook that I were “engaging in behavior that other Facebook user’s may find annoying, please read our ‘terms of use” … otherwise we would disable your account”!

What?? Replying to a request is annoying? I wasn’t spamming anyone! I was replying to people who had sent me a MESSAGE. Is it really funny? Soon, I learned that if you only send a few message every couple of hours it seemed to be okay, and the warnings message will not come through, whatever, it is quite frustrating. So to avoid account got disabled, I have to stop reply those friends’ requests and send them message.

Now, I have two pages (confusing) and I still have no idea how many people I can respond to in my inbox in order to avoid FB’s warning message about “annoying” .. !!

Here is the lesson I learned from my own experience:

Over the next couple of years, if you ever hope to connect with more than 5,000 people, you definitely want to make sure you have set your profile up as a “Fan” Page instead as a profile page, especially for those that in the business, who are enjoying networking, find passion in connecting and sharing information with others. And use social network marketing as a tool to promote your products or services etc.

So now on the Facebook, the only place we can be friends is my Fan page link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ann-Liu/95513323030?pub=2309869772&ref=s

To NOT get your account disabled by Facebook, the most important things to remember is to Follow FB’s rules and be Polite.

As you know, Facebook has this rule — once your facebook friend’s list hit to 5k, you will not allow to accept any more new people. Unless you remove somebody from your list, or your friend remove themselves out from your list.

Fortunately, there an alternative way out, Facebook allows you to set up Fan pages — visible to unregistered people and without have restriction on the numbers of people or fans you can have.

I haven’t thought to create a Facebook Fan Page only until my profile account friends hit the limit back to few days ago.

Well, in a short story, the first thing I did after created my facebook fan page is to import blog feed to my account because I want blog posts automatically appear on my Facebook page.

To share with you how it is works, following are the simple steps toward how you can import your blog (using the RSS feed) into your Facebook page (rather than profile).

1. Go to your Facebook page (or create a new one here)
2. Click on the Notes tab
3. Select ‘Write a new note’
4. Once you’re in this window, you can access the Notes settings.

5. Click on the Notes icon, then on the right-hand side of the Notes area, you can choose to import a blog.
6. Just copy and paste the location of your blog’s RSS feed.
7. The page will then start to import your blog.
8. After while, your blog post will show up in your Facebook page, you’ll see something like this one:

Your facebook page is different to your facebook profile — a profile is a personal account and it must be linked to an identifiable individual. Facebook page, on the other hand, can be set up by an individual to promote a brand, product or service.

One of the many advantages of setting up a facebook page is that people can become fans of that page. You, as an admin can control the page, such as send the messages, edit or remove sections, and control the information to an extent.

There are lots of blogs give instruction on how to import a feed into your profile but not give instructions specifically for a fan page (I have trouble to find it). So I noted down the above instructions in a rare fit of helpfulness. Hope you find it helpful.

I can’t believe there are still a lot of business and marketing people out there can’t see the value of Twitter! What are the things that hold you back from tweet?

Sure, you can have your own reasons for not tweet, well, if you are operating a business, no matter how big or how small the size your firm is, if you don’t like it and then ask someone else in your organization tweet.

If you still wondering toward “What can you do with only 140 characters?”. You really need to re-think it again. Twitter’s 140 characters limit actually can help you write your message direct to the point, with little room for bloated or mixed messages.

Due to the fact of all the links can be sent with your tweets, you have ample opportunity to present your message in any format — from simple text to rich multimedia and video. You can really leverage the Twitter Power to hang out with people that share your interests in any place in real-time, and offering opportunities for deeper collaboration.

Back to April, I wrote this Simple Twitter Guide for Future Tweeps as a give away gift for marketingbyann readers. If you read it already, then good, if not, you can download and read it now, it is free.

I use Twitter to share marketing articles in which it might be interested to my followers. I use it to Tweet every time I post a new blog entry. Not only that, I also use this tool to asking for help from others (it is amazing for me to see how fast the reply I can receive every time I got into something I don’t know that I need help from others by just asking ).

Sometime I also tweet some of my own ramblings to let my followers know what I up to, where I am or how I feel etc ..

So far, Twitter not only give me the opportunity to promote my own blog posts, which drives traffic to my site. It also help me build credibility for my personal brand. The combined effort of all of my social networking activities has given me leads for my consulting practice and other business opportunities.

For me, I think part of the social networking purpose is to show your personal side as well as your business side. By incorporating both, you can demonstrate your personality behind the brand.

You know, people want to do business with people who are alive, rather than faceless corporations. If you ask me — do I want to know every time someone drink coffee? No, not really. But if they share their humor or information about their non-professional interests and more personal side, they may become more memorable to me.

And personally I think Twitter is both like another email inbox and an RSS feed of useful links and insight from PR folks, social media leaders and other news organizations. You can watch how others use Twitter, ask questions and use as a quick focus group or research avenue for your own purposes.

If you haven’t Tweet, you really should start of doing it Now. Once you get on the Twitter, and then do this:

* Follow local people — listen what they say
* Follow smart people — learn from them
* Try your best to give back to others more than you get

Enjoy your Tweet experience ..

When I heard of Twitter Traffic Machine, the first question I asked myself was that: Is it another scam? But after I paid and use the system, I find it is a MUST investment for those marketers who are serious towards marketing their business online.

If you are new to the twitter — Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that lets users send and read other users updates/microblogs, also known as tweets. Tweets are sort of like posts in a very small blog, were each post can be up to 140 characters. Many online marketers gain lots of benefits from using this powerful free tool to market their business, products or services.

Tweets, on the other hand, are when you posted delivered to all your followers. You can send your ads, new product discount information, or message out to those people who are follow you with a click on your mouse.

Bill Crosby is the creator of Twitter Traffic Machine, he gained more than 16,000 followers in less than 90 days. Take a minutes to think about the results and impact — if you send out your ads to 16,000 people whenever you wanted could do for your online business!

Twitter Traffic Machine consists of six different Videos. Bill then easily shows you exactly how to then make use Twitter to its fullest and automatically increase your Twitter follower base to very high numbers using free online tools. It totally automates the process towards getting enormous amounts of Twitter followers.

If you have been tweeting for while, you may already know it is a very hard process to manually getting Twitter followers. If you still doing those manual things, you should look into Twitter Traffic Machine, it is the best answer for you to empower your time.

With most other twitter applications I’ve seen, you just gain random followers, which doesn’t do any good.

Instead what you want is visitors that are interested in your business, you want to build Twitter followers that are interested in your specific Niche and what you have to offer, you want to expand your business.

If you want it but do not know how to really go about using twitter for that exact purpose, if you want to set up a system just ONCE, forget about it, and have it grow and make cash each and every day, then get your own Twitter Traffic Machine NOW, with this system — anyone can become their own Twitter marketing expert.

If you’re not using Twitter yet, you may feel as if you’ve missed out. Twitter is one of the most revolutionary messaging systems that come out in recent year. It is an interesting and practical real-time messaging system for groups and friends. It allows groups of users to simultaneously engage in conversations all at the same time. As a marketer this can be a golden tool if utilized it properly.

The concept of Twitter may seem weird at first but there’s lot of value in connecting with people through this amazing micro-blogging platform. A lot of businesses now are using the Twitter ecosystem to pre-announce their new products, get feedback, share upcoming deals or for tracking buzz around their products and services. Twitter has not only tipped the tuna but by some estimations, it has already jumped the shark.

If you also own a product or a service, you may want to download and read this Simple Twitter Guide Report. It is free.

In the report, you will find some essential tools to help you harness the full power of Twitter without making any dent in your existing marketing budget, because all of these tools are completely free. If your website is using WordPress blog platform, you will find many tips toward to enhance your site’s traffic.

Twitter has been the choice of communication for many bloggers and net business people to deliver their messages across this chain of network where users are able to follow your daily tweeting on your twitter board.

How do you get your twitter tweeting and receive responds from the crowd?

Well, no matter you are just started as a new tweep or an experience and skillful tweep, the Report shall give you some fresh ideas.

I’ve had my Twitter account for sometime already, at the first, I didn’t really “get it” — mostly because there weren’t very many tweeps (twitter/peeps) on there that I cared to tweet to or with. Lately, I found that there more and more tweeps that I knew on the community, thus Twitter became a staple in my ever growing social media disorder.

Now, I have over 700 followers who can read whatever sweetness I feel like writing within 140 characters. If you haven’t following me, you can find me here: twitter.com/bblweb

Here are some of the stuff that I have found it to be extremely useful by using Twitter:

    * Quick answers to random questions
* Breaking news
* Promoting stuff
* Venting
* Seeing what others are up to when they should be working
* Laughing at tweeps who think they know their things

Opps… I am wondering if anyone is there laughing at me …

Whatever, download this free Simple Twitter Guide, you will glad you did it.

Happy Twittering ..

I like it simplicity beauty. If you already on Twitter, you know people are happy to let everyone know what they are doing, e,g, what they had for lunch, breakfast, brunch, and what they dunked in their office etc.

One of the things that really makes Twitter fun is that it comes with lots of optional add-ons. Twitter allows programmers to write applications that anyone can use and that extend the power of the service. You may already use some of the add-on Twitter tools to enhance your productivity on Twitter, one of the tool I like and highly recommend you to use is called TweetLater.

As you know on Twitter, when you follow someone and there’s a good chance that they’ll follow you in return. It’s not always guaranteed, but it does happen a lot and it’s why on strategy to pick up followers is to do a lot of following. It looks like good manners to follow back to others, however, it can make you look like a spammer sometime and you can’t possibly follow everyone on a long list closely. But many people do it anyway.

One of the reason they do it is that it’s easy. TweetLater lets you set up autofollows. Whenever someone follows you, you’ll automatically follow them in return.
