Be Diligent and You Will Succeed

Greetings All,

I have been away to China for while during the Chinese New Year festival, that’s why you didn’t receive our MBA bi-week enewsletter in the past few weeks, and now I am back in town so everything is back to normal operation.

So welcome to our March 2010 1st edition.

As everyone knows, China, the entire country is developing super fast in the recent years; even you see there are lots of new cars, new big roads, high rise modern buildings etc, but the unemployment rate is still very high and the smell of pressure in the air do exist, and you can see the gap between rich and poor is huge etc.

Beside that, I found China’s media activity has rocketed as well, according the statistics report and survey, it now has:

* 2,000 Newspapers

* 9,000 Magazines

* 287 TV channels

* 700m Mobile phone users

* 338m Internet users

* 180m Bloggers

* China’s Internet Users is 384 million, which is outnumber U.S. Population (by end of 2009)

Impressive, I am really amazed by its number of TV channels, there are lot of varieties for you to choose to watch, from historical series to modern movies, entertainment etc, but in a certain degree, the content of the programs are all very similar. The broadband access is super fast compare with Thailand, I can watch movies and on-live TV series from Internet without have any break out problems.

Beside that, the number of rising class of business leaders is getting younger and higher in status, managers born in 1970s are becoming the backbone of the group. The booming in search engine advertising or keyword advertising, online advertising (advertising embedded in games, software and video clips etc), online branding and online-shopping are another thing I saw.

My overall trip was great. However, due to the censorship rules, access to Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Ping.fm, TweetMeMe etc within China is largely blocked by the Chinese government, as is the case with many other western websites as well (e.g. blogger, wordpress and so on).

But, Plaxo, LinkIn and Xing didn’t get ban there.

The restrictions blocked me away from accessing them and communicate with my friends, and I also can’t access some of the site’s feed that I bookmarked from the reader … It really made me feel the disconnection, and feel I lost that kind of freedom … Fortunately, MBA sites are working and I can write and updating the sites normally.

Speaking of that, the Global Times recently published a special report about censorship in China. It is an illuminating analysis of a number of publishers who have been censored or who self-censor themselves in order to survive.

So if you don’t take action with what I’ve shared with you, you will not ever make any money online with whatever the methods you learn, either from this site or any other websites.

Take a deep breath … don’t fear success and just GO FOR IT.

Remember that – you are in control of your destiny and you can do things you never thought possible if you put your mind to it and TAKE ACTION.

When you start and try to get your website out there to people who are in NEED of what you are offering, think “outside the box” and try to be as much creative as you can. The name of the game is, finding an audience/market that needs something, and simply gives it to them!
