Ann’s Ramblings
Greeting!
Here are some thoughts come to my mind and I would like to share with you in this week MBA’s newsletter …
No matter how much benefits you get from work from home, no matter how much money you make from your own home-base business, here is the true fact - building a home-based business isn’t for everyone. Let’s face it. Some people like the commute. They enjoy having a boss who tells them what to do, and they like the routine of working nine-to-five for a bog-standard salary than can barely pay the mortgage.
On the other hand, there are people who are concerned about the risk of starting up their own business. They’re not sure it’s worth the investment of time and money, and they’re scared of the responsibility that comes with running their own company. They wonder if there isn’t another way to escape the rat race.
I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or wait for your Uncle John to keel over and leave you his condo. Maybe you could sit down with a pen and paper and draw the blueprint for the next big thing. Just bear in mind - anything can happen.
However if you want to create a successful, self-running Internet business, you need to invest both time and money. If you’re prepared to give an e-business the time, the work and the money it needs to get started and get growing, success should happen to you.
Speaking of having a successful self-run Internet business, write a business plan is important. It is the first thing you need to do before you can get capital from a loan or from investors. Without it, you will find it is hard to know where you’re going, if you don’t know where you’ve been!
What’s a Business Plan? A business plan is simply a list of answers to questions that people might have about your home business. Without a business plan, you will not get outside fund because people want to know that you have thought through your venture completely before they give you the fund.
A business plan says: I’ve considered this from every angle, and I am ready to get going.
Then what should include in your business plan? Following are some of my brief overview, if you need more help with your business plan; you just need to do a quick search on the Internet. There are lots of real life examples available.
- Description of your service
- What is it that you plan to do?
- Which industry you’re going to be in?
- Why you’ve chosen it?
- Who are your customers?
- Who you are going to be doing it for?
- What makes your business different? You need to explain what makes your business different from other businesses in your market.
- How do you plan to do to make the business succeed?
- List your expenses that include start up expenses and any equipment that you need before you can get up and running. Also include your daily expenses such as staff costs and supplies.
Now year 2006 is almost over! It is the time to start planning for next year.
Answering above those questions will put you in a much better position to plan for your success in 2007.
So make your commitments!
