Twitter Help You Market Your Products and Services

Speaking of social networking, I don’t know if you’re much into it or not. There are a lot of mixed opinions on Twitter specifically, but Twitter just got more useful to the small business crowd.

Twitter is one of well over 1000 social networking sites that I know of, and it is one of the most popular ones.

If you haven’t heard about twitter, here is what all about - Twitter is actually a micro-blogging platform. It is an online application that is part blog, part social networking site, part cell phone / IM tool. It is simply as blogging for regular people. It is a free service works by letting you broadcast your text message to your friends’ mobile phones from your own phone, an instant message or an online form at twitter.com.

The way of join is very simple, it is free for you register and open an account at Twitter.com, and then you can “follow” others, and others can “follow” you.

When you log into your Twitter account, you will see on the homepage, there is a small window where you can type in messages, we called people who are typing the message are “tweets”, the message you are typing allow up to 140 characters.

When you click the “update” button, everyone who has subscribed to your updates, everyone who are following you will see that message instantly once they logged into their Twitter account. It applies the same to you, someone that you’re following who updates their tweets, once you’re logged-in, you see their posts instantly.

You can see there are lots of messages on above this screen shot, some of Twitter users who can post dozens of messages a day. Some of them can stay logged in for hours each day.

Basically you can post whatever you want, like how you feel, what you are doing, what is your planning or where you go etc. It is very fun to chat with friends.

Twitter can serve as a “virtual water cooler” where people talk about work, the weather, sports, or anything else that comes up. Twitter’s networking component lets you make connections with your friends’ friends, share valuable information with others, and this dynamic can lead to serendipitous professional or personal relationships with other Twitterers.

Many tweets do answer the question of what the user is doing, but plenty of others are responses to other tweets, pointers to online resources that the user found interesting, musings, or questions.

However, if you are really serious of using this little but powerful tool to promote your business, product or service, you shouldn’t post blatant ads on Twitter; instead you should post something with have proper and professional writing if you want to make sales.

Speaking of Twitter’s other features; it also has a “Direct Message” feature where you can post a message directly to someone who is following you. No one else can sees that message, if your post only pertains to one person, use this feature will be more appropriate.

Tell you the truth, I find lots of great information and learn lots of new things and knowledge in the Twitter regarding to various subjects. Also made some sales there, it is so cool! Okay, here is the thing I like the most - the posts that you wrote on Twitter are also indexed by the search engines, see, you got free traffic. That’s very powerful.
