Google Answers Say Goodbye

November 30, 2006 | Written by annliu | Filed Under SMO, eBay and Google News, Webmaster Tools

I learnt this moring that is bidding farewell to Google Answers. This 4-year old service comprised a passionate community of 800 or so researchers answering questions of all varieties.

answers-logo-lg.png The service will stop accepting new questions in the coming days, and will stop accepting new answers by the end of the year. In its Official Google Blog, Andrew Fikes and Lexi Baugher, whose very very first project at Goolge was Answers, don’t really give an answer for the service’s closing,

But say that “ is a company fueled by innovation, which to us means trying lots of new things all the time — and sometimes it means reconsidering our goals for a product.”

Although questions will no longer be accepted or answered, the existing QnA database will remain available.
