If you are some one who actively uses Facebook fan pages and application for marketing your website or products, I am sure that you know the news that Facebook will be deprecating Static FBML from March 10th:

“With our recent launch of Requests and the support for iframe on Pages Tabs, we are now ready to move forward with our previously announced plans to deprecate FBML and FBJS as a primary technology for building apps on Facebook. On March 11, 2011, you will no longer be able to create new FBML apps and Pages will no longer be able to add the Static FBML app. While all existing apps on Pages using FBML or the Static FBML app will continue to work, we strongly recommend that these apps transition to iframes as soon as possible.”

FBML is Facebook’s mark-up language but the elements will take any HTML as well. By that, you have the ability to add newsletter sign-up forms, e-book downloads, and other HTML based elements. It is like HTML, but it lets you include social content inline in your markup, to use it, you need to have some knowledge of HTML.

iFrames (Inline Frame) , on the other hand, is an HTML document embedded inside another HTML document on a website. The IFrame HTML element is often used to insert content from another source, such as an advertisement, into a Web page. Although an IFrame behaves like an inline image, it can be configured with its own scrollbar independent of the surrounding page’s scrollbar.

Facebook’s introduction of iFrames is a good news for developers because they can brings in features of HTML5 as an addition to application and Fan pages, but it will be creating problems to users who do not know coding, and who rely on third party applications or outsource their work to create a Facebook Fan page.

As internet marketers, many of us are using Facebook as one of the marketing tool to create conversions for products, viral campaigns, or to build lists and so on. Since iframe can enable the FB Fan pages to have a better design, better analytics, so in someway, the transition of Facebook Fan Pages from FBML to iFrame is a blessing (somewhat) for marketers.

However, the problem is that not every marketer know how to code or design, for them, the switch to a more complex system where you create your own app might sound scary, so many of them outsource the work to others, but they do have to face the cost, it may cost lots (more than expected).

If you are in such situation, a product called Facebook 2011 Maxed HTML5 Template System or fbMaxed is the solution for you. It is a product jointly created by known search engine optimization specialist Daniel Tan (SEO Pressor Plugin) and social media marketing expert and consultant, Phil Benham.

FBMaxed is a full step by step tutorial course which will help you create a solid looking and feature rich iframe Facebook fanpage up and running in no time, it is a template system that teaches you how to create a full website onto your Facebook iframe fan page, and it shows you how to easily add a landing page, splash page, Optins forms, videos, galleries, PHP email contact forms and much more using iframe and HTML5 on Facebook fan page.

Here are some of the features that Facebook 2011 Maxed offers:

* A customizable system to create your very own reveal splash page that uses the new iFrame.
* Ready-made templates that can be instantly deployed, so your can have opt-ins, php scripts, HTML5 videos, photo galleries, contact form in your facebook pages
* Templates are Rock solid HTML5 so both websites and mobiles devices like Android, Blackberry, iPhone and iPad can view without a problem.
* Teaches you tricks to Bypass Facebook’s limitations of 800px tall iFrames
* Teaches you to make application without Scrollbars!

and much more…

FBMaxed teaches you how to make your fan page do cool things – like showing a different page to people who have ‘liked’ your page and a different splash page to those who have not. Beside that, the team promised that they will provide webinars every few days to their buyers to guide them through the system. At the end of every webinar they will hold a question and answer session so that the users can clear their doubt. You could even download those webinars (they will post them as downloadable videos), in case you miss the webinars. Obviously this will certainly be helpful to any buyers.

As long as the product is good – it teaches you only how to make a dashing fan page using iframe and HTML5, but it will not teach you how to get traffic to your fan page. So it would be a great idea if the creator of the product can add a module into the course towards how to get traffic to fan pages.

However, if you are very much into Facebook Marketing and Facebook E-Commerce, FBMaxed is a great product for you since the search engines have stated that social signals like Facebook ‘likes’ is being taken into consideration when calculating rankings of a website. Thus, to have a highly optimized fan page for getting a higher number of likes is essential because FBMaxed does just this.

In the mean time, you can also use Wildfire to the rescue! They offer super simple iFrames for Pages app free, I took it for a test run myself and was very impressed; in just a few easy steps your new tab can be live. Still. you do need custom images and/or HTML though (same as before with Static FBML).

So what is our life about in the social media network? – finding yourself, creating yourself or rediscover yourself?

Over the years, social networks have lured us (in both individuals and enterprise level) from the confines of our existing realities into a new genre of digital domains, it is not only captivated us, it also fostered new realities creation and new way of connect with others.

By the sparking of new connections, we were attracted by the promise of reigniting forgotten relationships and enamored on Facebook and Twitter etc. These relationships forever changed the way towards how we discover, share, learn, do business and collaborate in public. We are now the architects of our own experiences, and the paths for connecting people, information, and events become super fast. It is changing the way we think about business, customers and community.

Facebook, at the moment, is the most important social network in the world – over 500 million people connect to one another in the “Social Network.” It is by far one of the most important networks in the world – 50% of those active users log on to Facebook in any given day. And in total, people spend over 700 billion minutes per month posting, sharing, liking, commenting, poking, playing games and interacting with one another, as well as the content and applications that define the pervasive social ecosystem.

Brands, on the other hand, regardless of size and focus, are converging on Facebook where the idea of connecting with customers and prospects, it represents a potential boon for both earning relevance in a new domain as well as expanding overall reach.

Since Facebook’s “Fans” has evolved to “Likes,” a peer-to-peer (P2P) dynamic has been introduced – before our Facebook activity is from a top-down perspective, and now we have to consider an active participatory role in earning Likes, attention, and hopefully advocacy much more frequently than we may have anticipated initially.

The new FB Likes become a form of social currency, it contributed to the overall social capital which earned by a brand within Facebook. As a platform, Facebook invites businesses to build a presence and design an engagement architecture that introduces a new opportunity to also grow in prominence and connections. It represents an important platform to engage and activate the social consumer, and provides a powerful platform to host lively branded hubs that effectually connect social consumers.

By saying that, have you Create Your FaceBook ‘Like’ Page Yet?

As you know, Facebook has this rule – once your facebook friend’s list hit to 5k, you will not allow to accept any more new people. Unless you remove somebody from your list, or your friend remove themselves out from your list.

Fortunately, there an alternative way out, Facebook allows you to set up Fan pages – visible to unregistered people and without have restriction on the numbers of people or fans you can have.

I haven’t thought to create a Facebook Fan Page only until my profile account friends hit the limit back to few days ago.

Well, in a short story, the first thing I did after created my facebook fan page is to import blog feed to my account because I want blog posts automatically appear on my Facebook page.

To share with you how it is works, following are the simple steps toward how you can import your blog (using the RSS feed) into your Facebook page (rather than profile).

1. Go to your Facebook page (or create a new one here)
2. Click on the Notes tab
3. Select ‘Write a new note’
4. Once you’re in this window, you can access the Notes settings.

5. Click on the Notes icon, then on the right-hand side of the Notes area, you can choose to import a blog.
6. Just copy and paste the location of your blog’s RSS feed.
7. The page will then start to import your blog.
8. After while, your blog post will show up in your Facebook page, you’ll see something like this one:

Your facebook page is different to your facebook profile – a profile is a personal account and it must be linked to an identifiable individual. Facebook page, on the other hand, can be set up by an individual to promote a brand, product or service.

One of the many advantages of setting up a facebook page is that people can become fans of that page. You, as an admin can control the page, such as send the messages, edit or remove sections, and control the information to an extent.

There are lots of blogs give instruction on how to import a feed into your profile but not give instructions specifically for a fan page (I have trouble to find it). So I noted down the above instructions in a rare fit of helpfulness. Hope you find it helpful.

If you want, you are welcome to join our Facebook Page – without you participant, our page will not have that much fun ..
