These scammers keep coming up with new angles and we need to be on our toes to avoid them. I think most scams are just variations on things we have seen time and time again before.

Life was easier, safer and sometimes a lot more fun before computers and the Internet came into being in my opinions.

Whatever, stay safe online, if you received emails that looks or feel wrong to you, it probably is wrong, think carefully and you wont get caught!

I am Sandra Kwojo daughter of Fred Kwojo the Managing Director of Classic Trade (South Africa and Ghana West Africa). I am 18 years of age and an undergraduate, raised by my father as a single parent. My father is an American but had lived most of his live here in South Africa and Ghana until his death. Please bear with me that I don’t hear clearly, I seriously need help from you as the environment I am is not friendly again. All my father’s friends are now seeing me as a pest and are not welcoming again and some ask for sex before they could help me.

Please I am seeking your consent to assist me especially in the area of moving me out of this place to a new environment where I will continue my education and also for the claims of this money because I wrote to the finance house, but they needed an adult who will stand for me as my guardian before they can release this fund to me to avoid mismanagement and other risk according to them since I am still under age.

Huummm … 22,077 spam comments is a lot!

If at previous time, I’ll sweat when I see these spam comments, but since my blog start to use Akismet, I have never worry about the spam again.

Automattic Kismet (Akismet for short) is a wordpress plugin that collaborative effort to make comment, trackback spam a non-issue and restore innocence to blogging. It checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not, and lets you review the spam it catches under your blog’s “Comments” admin screen.

Before Akismet I was spending more time deleting spam than creating content. Now with Akismet installed, I can focus on actually blogging!

Akismet not only help you caught spam comments on your blog, it also helps your blog stay away from those spammers called link farms “autoblogs” – a popular fad among black-hat SEO consultants, which is what spammers generally prefer to call themselves.

Autoblogs link means spammers who are using automated tools to copy material from your blog without permission and re-publish it on the fake blogs covered with ads. They typically doing it by send high volumes of pingback or trackback notifications to try to trick naive bloggers into linking to them, as a results to boosting their (spammers) search engine rankings at the expense of the original authors of the stolen material.

They rip off both the bloggers whose material they’ve stolen, and the advertisers who are paying for worthless ads run on bogus sites.

If you own any web site that allows users to consume resources, to allow users to perform an action – you need to monitor it for signs of abuse.

Akismet help you exactly on that, it is free for personal use, and for commercial use, they have different options for you to choose toward the size of your business.

If you read it through, it seems like the sender is a nice person and she/he is trying to offer me a make money opportunity, huh! However, he/she should know send “Unsolicited email, sent to people that hasn’t asked to hear from you is mean Spam them”.

Normally this kind of annoying spammer’s email will go directly to the spam folder, because he/she put marketingbyann.com in his/her subject line, that make me curious to open it up.

You can see there no name, just ‘Hi friend’, also in the email, he/she has No Gut to use the original website’s URL, instead of using Tinyurl to shorten the original site’s url, he/she may afraid of the real link be find out? Here is the full email:
