Understand Your Customers

Greetings All,

Well, clearly, the global economic is slowing down, many countries have slipped into recession!

You may already read or hear this big news – on last Sunday, China announced an extensive economic stimulus plan that aimed at bolstering the weakening economy, a sweeping move that could also help fight the effects of the global slowdown. The package will bring $586 billion (wow, that’s a lot of money to spend) of spending on railways, airports and other infrastructure, and on social welfare projects as well. :-)

Asian markets welcomed the news. The Japanese Nikkei index rose 5.6 percent in trading early Monday, according the local news report. The announcement is an indeed good news for many countries as well as for Chinese domestic market and its own people.

I mentioned about this news here is not mean to discuss some sort of stock or financial market issues with you, instead, I hope you can from marketing point of view see there are many potential opportunities out there in regarding to the consumers in terms of their changing product, shopping preferences and how they want to spend their money.

We are living in the rapidly changing environment, to base today’s critical marketing decisions on past successes isn’t good enough anymore. To make you business (both online and offline) work, you need to put the consumer at the center of all your marketing decisions, and you need current and relevant consumer insights to do it.

Speaking of that, do you know what consumers want, how they shop, why they buy, how you will translate those consumer insights into competitive, marketing and branding strategies for your own business?

To make your company and your business more successful, you have to learn all about your customer first, then put that learning to work. Otherwise your business will go nowhere.

Sure, there are many scenarios towards this, but it is important to understand the perspective of your customers and find those common reasons that they decide to buy, and then work on your marketing, sales, and customer service delivery to match that moment of truth.
