Why You Need to Tweet?

I can’t believe there are still a lot of busi­ness and mar­ket­ing peo­ple out there can’t see the value of Twit­ter! What are the things that hold you back from tweet?

Sure, you can have your own rea­sons for not tweet, well, if you are oper­at­ing a busi­ness, no mat­ter how big or how small the size your firm is, if you don’t like it and then ask some­one else in your orga­ni­za­tion tweet.

I use Twit­ter to share mar­ket­ing arti­cles in which it might be inter­ested to my fol­low­ers. I use it to Tweet every time I post a new blog entry. Not only that, I also use this tool to ask­ing for help from oth­ers (it is amaz­ing for me to see how fast the reply I can receive every time I got into some­thing I don’t know that I need help from oth­ers by just ask­ing ).

Some­time I also tweet some of my own ram­blings to let my fol­low­ers know what I up to, where I am or how I feel etc ..

So far, Twit­ter not only give me the oppor­tu­nity to pro­mote my own blog posts, which dri­ves traf­fic to my site. It also help me build cred­i­bil­ity for my per­sonal brand. The com­bined effort of all of my social net­work­ing activ­i­ties has given me leads for my con­sult­ing prac­tice and other busi­ness opportunities.

For me, I think part of the social net­work­ing pur­pose is to show your per­sonal side as well as your busi­ness side. By incor­po­rat­ing both, you can demon­strate your per­son­al­ity behind the brand.

You know, peo­ple want to do busi­ness with peo­ple who are alive, rather than face­less cor­po­ra­tions. If you ask me — do I want to know every time some­one drink cof­fee? No, not really. But if they share their humor or infor­ma­tion about their non-professional inter­ests and more per­sonal side, they may become more mem­o­rable to me.

And per­son­ally I think Twit­ter is both like another email inbox and an RSS feed of use­ful links and insight from PR folks, social media lead­ers and other news orga­ni­za­tions. You can watch how oth­ers use Twit­ter, ask ques­tions and use as a quick focus group or research avenue for your own purposes.

If you haven’t Tweet, you really should start of doing it Now. Once you get on the Twit­ter, and then do this:

* Fol­low local peo­ple — lis­ten what they say
* Fol­low smart peo­ple — learn from them
* Try your best to give back to oth­ers more than you get
